  • India

3. Policies and Due Diligence Processes

Hyundai L&C Canada has adopted a formal Supplier Code of Conduct, which prohibits forced labour and child labour. All suppliers must sign an annual declaration affirming compliance.

We have implemented the following:

  • A supply chain risk matrix to evaluate supplier countries and sectors.

  • A corrective action log for non-compliance follow-up.

  • A whistleblower reporting mechanism for human rights concerns.

  • Mandatory employee training on responsible sourcing and red flag identification.

4. Forced Labour and Child Labour Risks

We have identified elevated risks in certain regions due to:

  • Weak labour enforcement

  • Use of subcontracting in mining and processing operations

  • Reliance on migrant labour

Our supplier risk assessment prioritizes raw material sources where manual extraction or informal labour practices are common.

5. Remediation Measures

No instances of forced or child labour were identified during this reporting period. If identified, our remediation process includes:

  • Immediate suspension of the supplier

  • Independent third-party audit

  • Development and monitoring of a corrective action plan

For workers potentially affected, Hyundai L&C Canada commits to support measures, including repatriation of recruitment fees and ensuring access to grievance mechanisms.

6. Training

We delivered mandatory training to applicable employees on:

  • Identifying signs of forced and child labour

  • Understanding supplier compliance obligations

  • Using the internal reporting mechanisms

Training was completed by all employees in procurement, logistics, and supplier management roles.

7. Assessing Effectiveness

Our current tools include:

  • Annual review of supplier risk scores

  • Completion tracking of training and declaration collection

  • Number of red flags raised or escalated

  • Periodic audits for high-risk suppliers (starting in 2025)

We are continuing to refine KPIs to better assess impact in future years.
